I have already written here: Marketing Trends in 2016, that social media will grow and give more advertising opportunities in 2016. Today, I will describe the basic mistakes to avoid when using the channel is Instagram.

Instagram is one of the most popular social media channels, the right marketing can guarantee some success, and at a small cost. During the day, users generate over a billion likes and add a thousand comments per second. This portal beats even Facebook and Twitter, reaching as much as 15-20 times the involvement of Internet users. This power can undoubtedly be turned into marketing success provided that some basic mistakes are avoided. What kind? About this in the article below.

1. Not using hashtags
Instagram its working best of hashtags – it’s a fact. You can be noticed with their help. and reach a large audience. A company that only inserts descriptions of images on their account, without using the signs, has almost no chance of being spotted. It is worth to spend some time and find right hastags for our professions, businesses, or photos on a private account. It is also worth creating your own, unique hashtag, which will be characteristic of your profile. Instagram has hashtag restrictions and you can use up to 30 words or phrases with the # symbol. However, studies show that it is optimal to use 11 to 15 hashtags.

2. Private profile is an error

Instagram allows you to set a profile as public, which is accessible to everyone (including hashtags) and private, which can only be watched by people approved by the host. For a company profile, it is not permissible to set the account as private. Then we will be invisible and we will not get observers, because even if they hit us, they will not be able to see the published content. Make sure to check your current account status in your settings and if necessary modify it. My private profile has no photos and looks like this:

3. Not responding to comments
This is a big mistake, just like with a Facebook profile. Watching the account, commenting on them, will be pleasantly surprised when they get a response. Then the discussion that others will join will increase the fan engagement, which will have a positive impact on the perception of the whole brand. Remember to respond
In the shortest possible time, the commenters will not feel neglected. It is a good idea to mark the person you are commenting on (placing the “@” tag before adding the person’s nickname). Then it will be notified of the response.

4. Too frequent publishing
When a user watches account data, new content posts to him in the activity stream. If you are viewing the same photos from one profile when you are viewing it, it is very likely that you will stop being an observer. This happens when posts are posted in too short a time. It is much better to publish the same number, but at a time interval, rather than a few at a time.

5. Same content
Don’t post the same content… Hmmm, if you are not Kardashian… If all your posts will look similar, the user simply gets bored watching his profile. It is therefore worth to focus on a variety of photos, not necessarily offered products, but primarily engaging recipients. Of course, it is best to have posts related to the industry in which your business operates, but it should not be boring.

6. Not observing others
On the main page you can see how many profiles are observed by the user. Even leading a business website, it is definitely worth the tens of those we follow. Well, if these are industry-related profiles, it’s also good to share. This will allow others to find our account, enter into interactions, and may even be a chance for development and collaboration. Engaging solely in your own content is not a good idea when it comes to marketing on Instagram.

7. No profile photo
The absence of a main image (photo/logo) is such a blatant mistake, especially among company profiles that it should not actually occur. However, many brands still do not realize that without a profile photo their account looks unprofessional. This is the most visible image, even with comments added. If we want to make a good first impression, we should definitely have a profile photo instead of a blank field. What can it be? Even if the company logo: looks aesthetically, professionally and immediately informs about the character of the profile.

8. No information at BIO
Not so, Instagram gives you the opportunity to describe your account so you do not use them. An account without description looks unprofessional and does not meet the information. It is even more sinful not to include a URL link to the correct company web site. Only in this place is it possible to place a hyperlink with redirection. By pasting the link only in the comment, it will simply be text, will not be active, and we will lose the ability to direct interested parties to the main website.

9. Not using video options
The latest research shows that video posts are the most popular. Instagram allows you to record 15-second videos, which are at times more favorable than regular pictures.
